As a classically trained actor with an MFA in Acting from Rutgers University, I’ve been acting, singing, and doing voice over work for over 25 years. I worked with the Berkshire Theatre Festival, Hippodrome Theatre, Mile Square Theatre, and Rocky Mountain Rep. Some recent VO projects include a 3D animation film (TreeTender.com), radio spots for the Hippodrome theatre, and an online Biology 101 course for the University of Florida. I have dialect and vocal coached for American Players Theatre, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Playwrights Horizons, Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, and the Illinois Shakespeare Festival.
On top of decades of acting experience, I am an irreverent university professor of voice, speech, and dialects for the actor. When not using the classroom as my stage, I’m busy diving into all things voice and speech related and championing the human voice for telling stories. I love giving voice to young adults, and reading journeys of empowered women in romantic comedies, and fantasy/sci-fis.
When not in the booth, I am cajoling my cats into letting me be the boss, arguing with my garden tomatoes, guffawing at the Jackass movies, or leading Laughing Yoga classes.
As I moved toward tenure, my jam was coaching summer Shakespeare festivals which allowed me to geek out with words, words, words. Now I am nesting in Gainesville, Fl and stop sweating when I return to family roots in Seattle and the San Juan Islands.
